This article will illustrate how to connect to the Ross Tria+ Server from home.  You must first connect to the VPN in order for the share to work. Please follow the instructions outlined in this support article. You will need to map two drives in order to Import as well as Export files from the server. Once connected to the VPN, please continue with these instructions:


Map Import Network Drive


First, we will map the Import Drive. Open a File Explorer (ie. a folder window) On the right hand side, RIGHT Click "This PC" Select "Map Network Drive"


 


Enter the network path


In order for you to import video files to the server, enter the following folder path:  \\tvserver.ottawa.ad.algonquincollege.com\imports Select "Connect using different credentials", Click Finish.



Enter the Servers' network credentials


Enter in tvserver\student in username, password is media, and click "Remember my credentials". Click OK to continue.

 


You should now be connected


You should now be connected to the Import drive of the Server. Add video files here to have them properly transcoded and imported into the server for in-studio use. 


Map Export Network Drive


Now, to map the export drive.  Open a File Explorer (ie. a folder window) On the right hand side, RIGHT Click "This PC" Select "Map Network Drive"



Enter the network path


In order for you to retrieve exported video files from the server, enter the following folder path: \\tvserver.ottawa.ad.algonquincollege.com\exports Select "Connect using different credentials", Click Finish.



Enter the Servers' network credentials


Enter in tvserver\student in username, password is media, and click "Remember my credentials". Click OK to continue.


 


You should now be connected


You should now be connected to the Exports drive of the Server. Video files that have been properly exported from the server will appear in this folder for use outside of the studio.
